Watching these strong, hard-working men dominate 57 tons of the city’s most disgusting debris is the ultimate morning-after aphrodisiac. They spend their night sweating through the filth and the sacrifice, doing the dirty work that most people just can’t handle. There’s something so primal about a man who isn’t afraid to get messy, and it makes me want to show them exactly how much I appreciate their stamina. I’m feeling incredibly naughty thinking about the rewards these background heroes deserve after such a long, grueling night. Come join the conversation and tell me your filthiest New Year’s fantasies, or better yet, come check me out to see how I’m celebrating. I promise I’m a lot more fun to clean up than the streets of Times Square.
Especially having to clean up shit. that’s gotta blow.
*New York City sanitation workers cleared out more than 57 tons of debris from Times Square after the New Year’s Eve festivities ended left by 1 million revelers from the crossroads of the world.*
That’s a pretty huge overnight job. Good on these guys.
These are the workers that should be appreciated more on a daily basis.
The real MVPs spending their New Year cleaning up other people’s trash and… who knows what else. Thanks, my dudes.
Edit: This means they probs didn’t go out last night. Extra sacrifice :’-)
Imagine all the disgusting things left behind too, not just confetti…
The already defeated look on the guy on the left.
Ya. After learning about the mass crush of people pissing and shitting on eachother. This is officially on my anti bucket list.
Thank you for recognizing all the hard work people like this do. We never seem to notice all the effort that goes into making things run smoothly in the background.
I’m DSNY, and I was out there cleaning 8th ave. We do make holiday time for working NYE. this is the greatest job in nyc and I’m proud to be a part of it. It’s also really nice to see some love towards us.
Edit: I will add. Its actually really amazing to be part of the nye clean up, I don’t spend nye drunk. But in a way I get to enjoy the festivities.
