In OC's defense, the reason why people do that here on reddit is because it is easier for people to find a comment that delivers the actual source of the picture. If you either press f3 or ctrl+f and type "source", you will find a lot of comments highlighted; on the other hand if you type "sauce", you will get the comment that actually has a reply with the source. I hope this helps explain why people uses "sauce."
